Your Data Worth £6.99

A man, who it is claimed has access to the personal details of thousands of Charnwood residents via a computer hard drive he bought on eBay, has been urged to return the sensitive data. A major investigation has been launched by Charnwood Borough Council after a national newspaper claimed that the Edinburgh man bought the former council owned hard drive for just £6.99. The information included thousands of residents' bank account numbers, sort codes, names and addresses - enough information say experts to access credit cards and cheque books. That was an article in the Loughborough Echo today. So all your personnel information including YOUR bank details were sold for just £6.99 on Ebay.
